WISE Women’s Center is thrilled to announce the purchase of our new facility, located at 2001 Stadium Drive, Bluefield, WV—a space that will soon become our community’s center for hope. This building represents a tremendous step forward in expanding our reach to women, children, and families in need across Mercer and surrounding counties. With this new home, we can offer greater stability, more comprehensive services, and room to grow programs that change lives every day.
While we are deeply grateful for the support that has brought us this far, the work ahead is significant. The building requires major updates and renovations to become a safe, welcoming, and fully functional center. Upcoming projects include installing a new roof, replacing gutters, adding exterior signage, completing a full interior remodel, painting, and updating fixtures throughout. We will also be equipping our classroom and workshop spaces, improving operational systems, and making numerous other structural and cosmetic enhancements. These improvements are essential to ensuring our staff, volunteers, and the families we serve have the environment they deserve.
We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of community support that has made this project possible. Thanks to $90,000 in private donations from compassionate individuals who believe in our mission, we were able to take the first steps toward securing our new home and beginning initial renovation work. Building on that momentum, the Shott Foundation awarded WISE a generous $75,000 grant, which allowed us to finalize the purchase of the building and continue essential repairs.
Even with this strong foundation, there is still much work ahead. With the total project estimated at $300,000, we continue to rely on the generosity of our community to fully restore and prepare this new resource center. We invite you to follow our progress and consider making a contribution—either online or in person—to our Flourish Campaign to help us raise the remaining $90,000 we need. Every gift, no matter the size, moves us closer to opening a fully renovated, fully operational center for the women and families we serve.
As part of this campaign, we are creating a permanent donor wall in the new building. Every contribution will be honored on this memorial, ensuring your generosity is recognized for years to come. All donations are tax deductible, as WISE is a federally recognized 501c3 nonprofit organization.
We are excited to share that while renovations continue, WISE Women’s Center’s administrative office is now open, and our charity boutique is scheduled to open mid-December. With your support, we will soon open the doors of a transformed space—a true sanctuary of hope, dignity, and empowerment for women and families in our region.
